September 19, 2003 Letting
RETAINAGE
The Department of Transportation will no longer retain
funds from prime contractors nor permit prime contractors to
hold retainage from subcontractors on construction
contracts. This will be effective on contracts let September
19, 2003 and later. This is in response to changes made by
the U. S. DOT to 49 CFR Part 26.
